In a move that closes the last gap in its lineup of hosted security solutions from Symantec Corp., of Mountain View, Calif., value-added distributor Pax8 Inc. has added Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) Mobile to its curated list of cloud-based solutions.
The latest addition to the Pax8 catalog joins Symantec Endpoint Protection Cloud, Symantec Cloud Workload Protection, and Symantec Web Security.cloud, along with multiple email security solutions and the Symantec VIP multifactor authentication system, all of which were available previously.
“As the go-to cloud security distributor, Pax8 offers MSPs a flight plan to build strategic security practices,” said Ryan Walsh, Greenwood, Colo.-based Pax8’s chief channel officer, in a press statement. “As a recognized leader in the cloud security space, Symantec offers the solutions needed to empower MSPs to transition to MSSPs, powered by Pax8’s ability to simplify cloud buying. SEP Mobile is an important addition to the security suite because it protects the MSPs’ customers from mobile cyberattacks.”
Designed to protect both iOS- and Android-based devices from physical attacks, network attacks, vulnerability exploits, and malicious apps, SEP Mobile employs a layered defensive strategy informed by device- and server-based analysis as well as a crowd sourced threat intelligence database.
“Business users access corporate assets from more devices and networks than ever before, making endpoint protection a vital part of a company’s security strategy,” said Torjus Gylstorff, Symantec’s vice president of worldwide partner sales, in prepared remarks. “Pax8 simplifies the go-to-market strategy for MSPs to offer Symantec’s best-in-class suite of cloud security solutions by removing barriers and simplifying billing and provisioning so that companies can fully embrace the cloud generation.”
Symantec is one of several security vendors on the Pax8 linecard, along with Sophos Ltd., IBM Corp., Breach Secure Now!, and most recently Webroot Inc.
