Webroot Inc. is the newest addition to value-added distributor Pax8 Inc.‘s curated lineup of software-as-a-service vendors.
The partnership encompasses all of Broomfield, Colo.-based Webroot’s cloud security solutions, including including SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection and SecureAnywhere DNS Protection. Webroot extended the latter product to safeguard guest Wi-Fi networks at sites like hotels, airports, coffee shops, and shopping centers this week.
“Our partners asked for Webroot, and today, we delivered,” said Ryan Walsh, Greenwood Village, Colo.-based Pax8’s chief channel officer, in prepared remarks. “Webroot’s intelligent cloud security solutions empower MSPs to protect their customers from cyberattacks. By combining the industry’s first fully cloud-based web security company with the first born-in-the-cloud distributor, this is a monumental partnership for the IT channel.”
Also available through Pax8 now is Webroot Security Awareness Training, a phishing simulation and employee education service based on technology Webroot acquired along with Securecast, of Portland, Ore., last August.
“The multi-vector, multi-layer Webroot approach to security helps MSPs offer a smarter, streamlined solution to their customers,” said Charlie Tomeo, Webroot’s vice president of worldwide business sales, in a press statement. “We were the first to harness the cloud and artificial intelligence to protect businesses and individuals against cyber threats and are excited to partner with award-winning cloud distributor, Pax8.”
Pax8 added Symantec Cloud Workload Protection, from Mountain View, Calif.-based Symantec Corp., to its solution roster earlier this month. The distributor offers security systems from Sophos Ltd., IBM, and BAE Systems, among others, as well.
Forrester expects expect global spending on cloud security solutions to climb at a torrid 28 percent CAGR through 2021 to $3.5 billion.
