IoT Security Services Association (IoTSSA) and CompTIA have jointly created a scholarship program aimed at helping three deserving individuals launch or accelerate careers in technology.
Winners of the contest, who will be selected on October 6th, will receive free access to training and exams needed to earn CompTIA’s A+ certification for IT professionals. The scholarships are worth over $1,000 each.
Channel pros who wish to nominate an employee, family member, friend, student, or anyone else who wishes to acquire or enhance critical IT skills can submit information online at the IoTSSA website. There are no age restrictions to compete, and both current and aspiring technology professionals are eligible to win.
Nominations are being accepted through September 28th.
Judging will be performed by the IoTSSA Advisory Council, a panel of 10 MSPs who help guide content and events for the association. They will consider inspiring stories, individual needs, and anything else that makes a nominee an exceptional candidate for free IT career assistance when making their selections.
Closing the gap between needed and available technology workers has been a CompTIA priority for years. Membership group (ISC)2 estimates the number of trained people needed to meet global demand for cybersecurity talent alone at some 4.07 million.
