Distributor Tech Data Corp., of Clearwater, Fla., has contracted with solution provider NetEnrich Inc. to provide migration services for Microsoft cloud platforms to its resellers.
Under terms of an agreement between the two companies, NetEnrich specialists will be available to help Tech Data partners move their customers’ data and applications into Microsoft Azure or Microsoft’s Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS).
The new service responds to frequent requests for assistance with Azure and EMS migration from VARs who lack the skills or resources to complete such projects on their own, according to Maurice Hamilton, Tech Data’s vice president of technical services.
“We’ve heard from our partner community that this is something that they’re looking for, so we definitely want to provide that service,” he says, adding that Tech Data expects both SMB and enterprise-oriented resellers to take advantage of the new offering.
Based in San Jose, Calif., NetEnrich is a long-time Microsoft partner whose specialties include cloud computing, IT management, and unified communications. The company offers Azure and EMS migration services to the channel on its own as well as through Tech Data.
“Partners like Tech Data are experts in making connections with the reseller community, and we are thrilled to partner with them and extend our reach, especially within the small and medium-sized business (SMB) market,“ said Phuc Vu, NetEnrich’s director of business development, in a press statement. “We are looking to seamlessly and significantly expand the consumption of cloud services, while empowering partners to effectively scale their businesses.”
At present, NetEnrich is the only firm providing Azure and EMS migration assistance for Tech Data, which currently has no plans to add more.
“You never know what’s going to happen 6 months or a year down the road, but right now we’re pretty happy with the direction that we actually have,” Hamilton says.
Tech Data selected NetEnrich after extensive research and vetting. According to Hamilton, people involved in that process came away impressed by the solution provider’s close ties to Microsoft, rigorous approach to migration projects, and focus on client service.
“We really feel that they actually have a sincere and genuine interest in making sure that the customer received the business outcome that they’re looking for,” he says.
NetEnrich’s Azure and EMS migration services complement similar services for Microsoft Office 365 that have been available to Tech Data’s channel through a different third-party provider since last year.
