Tech Data Corp., the Clearwater, Fla.-based broadline distributor, has rolled out new managed mobility services and new training services for resellers of solutions from Cisco Systems Inc.
Called AccessEMM, the mobility offering enables partners to leverage Tech Data’s managed service expertise rather than build a mobile device management practice of their own. Specific components of the new service include mobile device management-as-a-service, cloud Wi-Fi, mobile augmented reality services, and wireless services.
“Consumption of technology in subscription-based, operational expenditure and ‘as-a-service’ models are on the rise as companies strive to achieve better efficiencies, lower costs, and increase flexibility,” said Harish Sathisan, director of Mobility, Americas at Tech Data, in a press statement. “As managed services consume increasing portions of customer IT budgets, it is critical for partners to recognize this trend to remain relevant and profitable. End users need solution providers that can offer a complete set of offerings, including subscription-based managed services, and this is exactly what AccessEMM provides for our partners.”
The new training solution, called Tech Data Cisco Technical BOOST (aka “Tech BOOST”), is a one-on-one technical enablement program designed to help technical staff learn the concepts, tools, and delivery methods needed to deploy and enhance Cisco data center and wireless systems. It builds on the distributor’s existing Sales and Marketing BOOST enablement platform for Cisco resellers.
“Tech Data is focused on helping partners grow profitable Cisco practices, and these exclusive Tech BOOST training modules are a key part of effectively facilitating successful engagements,” said Angie McCourt, vice president of the Cisco Solutions Group at Tech Data, in prepared remarks. “Our consultative end-to-end approach is designed to drive growth through data-driven decisions and our world-class enablement platform. Tech Data’s dedicated training team and solutions consultants stand ready to help partners build their practices through updated solution-oriented trainings, marketing, technical services, operations and professional services consultations.”
Initial Tech BOOST trainings cover Cisco UCS, HyperFlex, and hyperconverged infrastructure solutions, as well as Cisco Nexus data center switches, NX-OS solutions, and assessment-led selling. Tech BOOST modules are led by experienced Tech Data architects and systems engineers.
Tech Data also recently launched its first wireless training module, which covers Cisco RF Gateway Series solution basics and provides instruction on common deployment modes and performing predictive site surveys. The company’s Cisco Security team will soon launch the first module of its Tech BOOST Security Edition.
