Pax8 has signed a global alliance agreement with Nord Security.
The deal adds two Nord solutions, NordLayer and NordPass, to the cloud distributor’s growing lineup of security solutions.
“Security is a huge focus for Pax8, and we are committed to partnering with the leading security vendors to enable MSPs to create the most comprehensive technology stack for their clients,” said Ryan Walsh, Pax8’s chief operating officer, in a press statement. “Nord Security provides one of the most advanced security solutions in the industry and has been recognized by some of the most influential IT security specialists and tech sites. We are thrilled to add NordLayer and NordPass to our suite of solutions.”
NordLayer is an ISO-certified adaptive network-access security solution designed to help businesses of any size embrace Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architectures and implement zero trust security.
The system combines SD-WAN technology with firewall-as-a-service, zero trust network access, network segmentation, secure web gateway, and other components, plus threat prevention, secure remote access, and SaaS data protection and user privacy functionality. The end result, Nord says, is a multi-layered set of defenses against a wide range of cyberattacks that’s purpose-built to be easily deployed, easily integrated with multi-cloud resources, and easily modified and scaled as business requirements change.
NordPass is a password management solution that relies on the XChaCha20 algorithm, an alternative to AES-256 encryption that according to Nord is both less vulnerable to cracking and simpler, making it less prone to technical and human error. It also, Nord says, requires no hardware support and deploys three times faster on platforms without AES hardware.
In addition, the system comes with a data breach scanner that searches the web for evidence of leaked data, password policy setting and enforcement tools, and a password health feature that calls out weak, reused, and old passwords. That and other information is available on the solution’s centralized dashboard.
“Nord Security is excited to be launching with Pax8 to make NordLayer and NordPass immediately available to Pax8’s ever-expanding MSP community,” said David Nutt, senior vice president of North America at Nord Security, in supplied remarks. “For thousands of businesses worldwide, Nord Security has demonstrated that our cybersecurity solutions combine industry-leading innovation with unmatched ease of implementation and user experience. MSPs and their customers will see instant benefits. Pax8 is a key partner and is central to expanding Nord Security’s commitment to our partner-led strategy.”
Nord is the latest addition to Pax8’s steadily growing roster of security partners. The company has been offering zero trust web threat protection services from Isoolate since last July, vulnerability assessment software from CyberCNS since last November, and managed firewall services from WatchGuard Technologies since February.
Other security vendors on the Pax8 line card include Acronis, Bitdefender, Microsoft, N-able, Proofpoint, OpenText, Kaseya’s RocketCyber unit, and SentinelOne.
