Gradient MSP has added unlimited imports of .csv files to the free tier of its billing reconciliation service.
Introduced last November, Gradient’s Billable solution is designed to simplify the complex process of determining exactly what customers should be charged each month for consumption-based products. The system lets channel pros export usage data from online vendors in .csv files, compare it to end user contract and service line-item data in their PSA, and then upload reconciled figures back to the PSA automatically. The single-user free version of the system now includes unlimited .csv downloads.
“MSPs and the entire ecosystem deserve something better. We aren’t just rolling out a product to market to make a quick buck from MSPs—it is our mission to solve a fundamental challenge that the industry faces as a whole,” said Gradient MSP CEO Colin Knox in a press statement. “Following modern SaaS growth strategies, it’s important for us to earn the trust and confidence of MSPs, allowing them to experience the full value of our solutions before we expect them to pay anything.”
Future editions of Billable will include direct, fully automated integrations between cloud platforms and PSA solutions that spare users from manually collecting .csv files, Gradient says. The free version of the product will include one such integration when that functionality becomes available.
“In addition to supporting the imports of usage details and billing summaries, we are working on fostering direct integrations where billing reconciliation can truly be a ‘set it and forget it’ process that allows MSP owners to focus on other important activities, and never need to spend time on this hated task ever again,” said Knox in prepared remarks.
Features provided now with free Billable licenses include support for unlimited end user contracts and services, unlimited support for pre-populated, vendor-specific mappings from .csv fields to PSA fields, and identification of unbilled services. A Pro edition of the solution, planned for future release at $99 a month, will support unlimited users and unlimited vendor integrations.
At present, Billable integrates with eight PSAs, including ConnectWise Manage, Datto’s Autotask PSA, Kaseya BMS, and Tigerpaw, along with systems from Pulseway and Syncro.
To date, Gradient says, over 250 MSPs have deployed Billable. The vendor expects that figure to nearly double in the next month.
Gradient’s first offering, a “data hygiene” solution designed to help MSPs improve the completeness and accuracy of their PSA records, is also available at no cost.
Billing reconciliation is a severe, time-consuming pain point for MSPs drawing increased attention from PSA makers and other vendors. ConnectWise rolled out a reconciliation tool for cloud-based solutions last July, for example, while Zomentum acquired automated license management and billing reconciliation vendor Goolash last week to add similar functionality to its sales management and automation platform. Liongard’s “unified visibility” solution is designed to streamline billing reconciliation as well.
