ConnectWise has added a solution to its Recover family of backup and disaster recovery products that MSPs can use to manage multiple third-party BDR systems centrally.
According to ConnectWise, nearly 60% of MSPs support three or more BDR solutions. The new product, called ConnectWise Recover Complete BDR, lets such companies monitor backups and protected endpoints, build and automate workflows, set up alerts, define onboarding policies, schedule updates, and run reports through a single console.
Users have the option of outsourcing those and other tasks to ConnectWise’s network operations center as well. Using Recover and NOC services together, says ConnectWise citing partner research, can reduce the time MSPs spend on backup management by 90%.
Channel pros who procure licenses for the third-party BDR applications they manage with Recover Complete BDR through the ConnectWise Marketplace get unified billing on a single invoice as well.
“With an evolving IT landscape, industry consolidation, and lack of trained technicians, it can be challenging for TSPs to manage multiple BDR solutions. ConnectWise’s new offering is working to address those pain points,” said David LeClair, senior director of product management at ConnectWise, in a press statement. “Now they don’t have to struggle to obtain a single consolidated view on their backup state or jump between multiple tools to integrate various delivery methods for backup, or even deal with the complexities of billing and invoicing across their multiple backup vendors.”
Acronis, which offers BDR functionality through its Cyber Protect Cloud solution, is the first vendor to integrate with ConnectWise’s latest product.
“ConnectWise sees the MSP industry much like Acronis does, and that is why we are proud to announce the launch of our new integration on Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud,” said Jan-Jaap Jager, board advisor and chief revenue officer at Acronis, in prepared remarks. “Both ConnectWise and Acronis are focused on providing backup and recovery solutions from one single pane of glass, so MSPs can easily maintain their daily workloads, and focus on keeping their customers’ businesses secure, efficient and profitable.”
Other, previously available, products in the Recover suite include Recover Backup for protecting endpoints, Recover SaaS for protecting cloud applications, and Recover BDR for keeping entire network infrastructures continuously available. ConnectWise acquired those products in 2019 when it purchased RMM, NOC, and BDR vendor Continuum.
