Axiom, a provider of networking connectivity, storage, and memory products, has released Axiom BENDnFLEX fiber optic cables. Combining the high-performance of OM4 multimode fiber optic cable with bend-tolerant properties, BENDnFLEX is designed to improve performance in angled and space-constrained conditions. Ideal for any data center, BENDnFLEX offers interoperable functionality across multiple data rate SAN, LAN, Fibre Channel, and Ethernet technology platforms with support for current and future needs for high-bandwidth routing, switching, virtualization, and converged infrastructures.
BENDnFLEX OM4 fiber cables can transmit a 10Gb per second data rate up to 550 meters, states Axiom, which is over 200 meters longer than the furthest transmission length for OM3 fiber cables.
In pre-terminated
custom and standard lengths, the company offers two BENDnFLEX product lines. The Silver line meets all industry insertion loss testing with a .3db insertion loss. The BENDnFLEX Platinum line meets industry-testing standards with a .1dB insertion loss and features a Plenum rated jacket for fire resistance, Corning Glass cores, and cable length labels.†
The BENDnFLEX product line is also RoHS and TAA compliant. “We felt it was important to offer cables that are TAA compliant, because more and more local, state, and federal agencies are mandating the use of TAA compliant products,” says Eric Devaney, vice president of Sales for Axiom. “In addition, there is a big push to bring manufacturing back to the U.S.”
Available in most popular standard lengths, BENDnFLEX Silver and Platinum cables can be custom-sized and branded for qualifying orders.
