WatchGuard has added four new endpoint-related modules covering patch management, encryption, data inventory, and reporting to its Unified Security Platform.
All four offerings can be provisioned and managed via WatchGuard Cloud, the online administration portal for WatchGuard’s portfolio of network security, Wi-Fi security, endpoint security, and multifactor authentication solutions.
“WatchGuard continues to deliver on its vision of our Unified Security Platform that enables MSPs to offer a comprehensive set of enterprise-grade security services to protect businesses of all sizes,” said Andrew Young, senior vice president of product management at WatchGuard, in a media statement. “The addition of these new endpoint modules not only dramatically simplifies the management of our endpoint security portfolio for MSPs, but provides them with new cross-sell and up-sell revenue opportunities as well.”
Available as an add-on to WatchGuard’s EDR and endpoint protection (EPP) solutions, as well as the EDPR offering that combines both products, the new WatchGuard Patch Management module is designed to help MSPs eliminate vulnerabilities in operating systems and third-party applications on Windows workstations and servers.
WatchGuard Full Encryption provides tools for centrally managing full disk and USB drive encryption and key recovery leveraging the BitLocker technology in Microsoft Windows. It too is available as an add-on to WatchGuard EPDR, EDR, and EPP.
WatchGuard Advanced Reporting Tool, which buyers can add on to WatchGuard EDR and EPDR only, offers a variety of pre-defined queries, dashboards, and alerts and supports custom queries and alerts as well.
Finally, WatchGuard Data Control, which ships as an add-on for WatchGuard EDR and EPDR but only in Europe at present, discovers, audits, and monitors sensitive unstructured data at rest, in use, and in motion. The system runs real-time, custom file searches as well.

The combination of WatchGuard Cloud with the Endpoint Security portfolio not only allows us to offer this protection, but also gives us the ability to expand our security service offering, increase efficacy and efficiency, and grow the business,” said Bill Walter, a partner at WatchGuard reseller Gross, Mendelsohn & Associates, in prepared remarks. “The new endpoint modules further build on that vision of giving customers a complete unified security platform.”
All four new modules are the latest extensions of WatchGuard Cloud. The vendor added policy management, MFA, and threat analysis features to the portal in February, the endpoint security products it acquired along with Panda Security in June, and a new set of Wi-Fi 6-enabled access points earlier this month.
