Cloud-Connected Eaton Tripp Lite UPS Series Unveiled

Eaton’s introduces the cloud-connected Tripp Lite series, which brings new opportunities for channel partners.

Eaton takes cloud-connected UPS to greater heights.

Eaton has always been focused on providing customers with a quality-built UPS that delivers exceptional performance for the money. Eaton, which purchased the Tripp Lite brand in 2021, is now introducing Eaton Tripp Lite series products with an innovative new line of cloud-connected UPS systems.

Whether deploying a single UPS or an entire fleet, you’ll be able to keep a close eye on UPS status and battery levels in real time via a mobile app or web browser.

Eaton Tripp Lite UPS seriesSetting a new standard for ease of use, control and monitoring UPS deployments of any size, the new UPS series addresses several key industry challenges. For instance, customers with hundreds or thousands of UPS systems scattered across multiple locations know how difficult it can be to plan replacements, check battery status and deal with alerts. Meanwhile, larger organizations that have installed power systems with remote monitoring capabilities often struggle with difficult-to-use software that requires specialized IT skills. Eaton’s new Tripp Lite series changes that, dramatically reducing the time and expense of frequent on-site visits.

In addition to providing exceptional scalability and flexibility, the Tripp Lite series of cloud-connected UPS systems also speeds deployment. Once the mobile app is downloaded and an account created, “the customer simply scans the QR code and within three minutes, the product is registered on our website and you are ready to go,” said Sumitra Giri, product manager at Eaton.

Furthermore, deploying configuration changes has never been quicker or easier, thanks to the UPS’s unique NFC feature. Using any NFC-enabled phone, configurations can be transferred to the UPS by placing the phone near the unit. Subsequently, those configurations can be pushed to every cloud-connected UPS in the account.

Tripp Lite Series Cloud-Connected UPS Key Benefits:

✓  Integrated Ethernet Port: Built in RJ-45 Ethernet delivers cloud-connected capabilities out of the box.

✓  Brightlayer-Powered Remote Management: Included software allows for easy monitoring, control and management of any size deployment.

✓  Network Grade Power Protection: Protects sensitive equipment during severe brownouts and overvoltage conditions.

✓  Reliable battery backup: Keeps equipment running during short outages, provides time to save work in progress and shut down equipment safely during longer outages.

✓  Controllable Outlets: Remotely toggle outlets to reboot unresponsive equipment, minimizing on-site visits.

Eaton’s new series stands out even further thanks to its easy-to-use cloud-based remote monitoring software powered by Brightlayer. From a central dashboard, users can set up and control a single UPS or a fleet of thousands, as well as receive alerts, silence alarms, and control individual or banks of outlets. While other manufacturers often charge monthly rates to leverage cloud management software, Eaton is bundling it as part of the Tripp Lite series.

“We are not going to charge for the software—ever,” Giri said. “What comes in the box will be valid throughout the lifetime of the product.”

Eaton will be rolling out the new cloud-connected Tripp Lite series throughout 2024, starting with its standby desktop UPS system. The compact UPS is ideal for POS systems in retail, kiosks and light industrial environments.

Using Starbucks as an example, Giri illustrated the opportunity the Tripp Lite series UPS offers. “In every Starbucks, there are two to four counter POS systems, each of which is connected to one UPS,” Giri said. “If we estimate there are 10,000 locations in the U.S., imagine how many UPS systems they would have to monitor and manage. For Starbucks to have a cloud-connected dashboard sitting somewhere in Seattle, where they can monitor and manage every UPS in every store across the country, and not let their POS counter go down – that is a huge savings for any customer.”

Eaton will unveil additional models in the series later this year, including line interactive desktop, 1U/2U rack, and tower UPS systems.

The new cloud-connected Tripp Lite series brings new opportunities for channel partners to devise or rethink power solutions for their customers. Eaton’s recently revamped PowerAdvantage Program will help MSPs benefit today.
