HP Showcases Largest Portfolio of AI PCs, Announces New Color LaserJet 3000 Series for SMB

Looking for a PC with built-in AI processing? HP probably has you covered.

HP took the stage at its Amplify Partner Conference in Las Vegas to announce several new notebooks, workstations, and other productivity solutions, simultaneously claiming to have the industry’s largest portfolio of AI PCs.

“At HP, our mission is to empower companies to capitalize on the power of AI, sparking ambitious and meaningful progress in every organization,” said Alex Cho, president of Personal Systems, HP Inc. “By harnessing AI as a personal tool, we are creating more personalized and meaningful work experiences, revolutionizing the way we interact with technology and each other in the workplace.”

What is an AI PC, you ask? According to HP, it’s a PC with “equipped with AI capabilities powered by Intel Core Ultra 5 and 7 processors or next-generation AMD Ryzen PRO processors with dedicated NPUs for tackling AI tasks.” Next year, or the year after when NPUs are baked into nearly all computers, they’ll be again referred to as just “PCs”. In the meantime, there’s a short window where AI can be a differentiator in hardware and HP is not holding back.

HP also made several changes to its Amplify Partner Program to further train and incentivize partners to leverage their extensive AI offering. There’s an enormous amount of hardware to cover, so let’s dig in.

Elite, EliteBook, and ProBook

The latest HP Elite and Pro PC come equipped with Intel or Ryzen Pro silicon with dedicated NPUs for faster AI processing and a more personalized performance. HP Smart Sense is designed to automatically anticipate and adjust to your PC usage behavior, balancing performance and power accordingly. Poly Studio leverages AI to deliver Dynamic Voice Leveling, AI Noise Reduction, and automatic framing offer improved, natural on-camera interaction and collaboration.

  • The HP Elite 1000 Series G11 line is “the world’s most powerful AI business PC,” according to HP. Compared to the previous generation, users can expect up to 80% better graphics performance, up to 38% less power for AI-enhanced collaboration, up to 132% faster AI video editing, and up to 21 hours of battery life. HP notes that over 70% of major parts contain recycled materials, including recycled fishnets in the keyboard.
  • The AI story continues with the EliteBook 800 and 805 series, which targets enterprise knowledge workers that need better performance and collaboration features. The new line gets bumped to the latest Intel Core Ultra 5 and 7 series processors or Ryzen PRO processors with integrated NPUs.
  • The middle of the road is the EliteBook 600 and 605 Series G11, which HP says is “crafted for corporate and public sector organizations that need value and flexibility.” These units contain at least 30% PCR plastic in the bezel and at least 50% PCR plastic in the keycaps.
  • The HP ProBook 400 and 405 lines also get the AI bump, which HP says is ideal for hybrid workers splitting time between home and office. These units offer essential performance, as well as upgradeable storage and memory.
  • Last in the lineup is its Elite Small Form Factor 805 G9 desktop PC, which select models can now be configured with an optional integrated NPU Ryzen AI, including AMD Radeon RX 6300 2GB graphics, or NVIDIA® T400 4GB discrete graphics.

Z by HP

HP’s ZBook line of workstation notebooks are also getting some attention. With a range of CPUs, including Intel Core and AMD Ryzen processors with dedicated NPUs, these solutions empower creative professionals working with enhanced productivity and creativity through AI.

  • The HP ZBook Power G11, in a premium 16” design, features pro-grade components and an NVIDIA RTX 3000 Ada Laptop GPU, which HP claims lets it excel in AI development, 3D modeling, and multitasking.
  • The HP ZBook Fury G11, equipped with an Intel Core HX processor and an NVIDIA RTX 5000 Ada Laptop GPU, delivers “desktop performance from any location, offering powerful AI acceleration for tasks like 8K video editing, 3D rendering, and local AI model execution.”
  • The HP ZBook Studio G11 enhances focus and productivity with a sleek, portable design for tasks like complex assemblies, AI-integrated content creation, real-time rendering, and on-the-go data visualization.
  • Finally, the 14-inch HP ZBook Firefly G11 combines pro-level performance and mobility, supporting seamless project management with AI-accelerated performance through the NVIDIA RTX A500 Laptop GPU, dynamic power efficiency, and exceptional battery life.

Poly Studio Conferencing Solutions

HP has put a lot of effort into its Poly line of collaboration and conferencing solutions over the past few years. This time around they are injecting a little AI magic into the mix. It’s Poly Studio E360 Center-of-Table Camera works in tandem with a front-of-room camera allows it to capture everyone in the room regardless of where they’re seated, while it’s Studio E60 camera leverages a 12x optical zoom and 4k sensors, plus some smart presenter tracking, to ensure the presenter is always up close.

The most interesting of the lineup is the Poly Studio V52 video bar for mid-sized conference spaces and enhancements to its Poly Lens software. The V52 gets the latest Poly DirectorAI innovations and unique audio AI features to help it work better in rooms with glass walls and eliminate distractions. Poly Lens is getting a new integration with Microsoft 365 Calendar to deliver a more comprehensive view of occupancy and utilization for better planning based on usage.

Monitors and Peripherals

That’s right, HP is even blending a little AI magic into its monitors and peripherals, or some of them anyway. It’s latest lineup of HP Series 7 Pro Monitors, consisting of 11 models of varying sizes, offer “DreamColor-class” displays with “true-to-life” clarity. Two of the offerings, the Series 7 Pro 27 and 34-inch models, include an integrated AI privacy webcam – a world’s first according to HP.

To keep your hands productive and comfortable, HP has a couple new keyboards and options on the table. The first is the HP 965 Ergonomic Wireless Keyboard, which offers a split-zone layout, 20 programmable keys, and integrated Copilot Key, and separate number pad. Those who don’t dig split-zone keyboards may like the HP 685 Comfort Dual-Mode Keyboard and Mouse, thanks to its wavy design, wrist rest, Copilot key, and contoured grips.

There’s a number of other peripherals coming, like USB-C hubs, totes, and bags.

Color LaserJet Pro 3000 Series

Designed with SMB in mind, HP announced the 3000 series of color LaserJet printers, the latest that leverages the more energy efficient TerraJet toner cartridges it introduced last year. It delivers “exceptional color quality, professional speed, and energy efficiency in a compact design,” according to Aurelio Maruggi, division president, Office Print Solutions at HP. “By optimizing printer manageability, we enable SMBs to save money, time, and effort, while ensuring high-quality prints, safeguarding sensitive information, and effortlessly adapting to collaborative and growth-oriented environments.”

Coming in May, the new 3000 series offers fast duplex and page out speeds (26 ppm color), pro level security features, small footprint, and Wi-Fi 2 for more reliable connectivity. Features vary across the four models.
