Zyxel Communications, a leading provider of secure broadband networking, Internet access, and connected home products, has announced the addition of two new products to its popular Multy Pro whole-home managed Wi-Fi system for solution providers.
The new Zyxel AC3800 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Extender System (WAP6906) and Multy Pro Whole-Home Wi-Fi System with gigabit†MoCA 2.0†residential gateway (EMG6765) and Wi-Fi extender (WAP7205) add new gigabit Wi-Fi solutions that are practical and economical, and offer service providers many more options to deliver managed Wi-Fi service profitably to their customer base.
Tri-Band Wi-Fi Extender for Gigabit Broadband Connections
Designed for power users with gigabit broadband connections, the high-performance†AC3800 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Extender System (WAP6906)†can be used as an extender with many of the Multy Pro-enabled Wi-Fi residential gateways or can be connected to any existing broadband router to create an independent whole-home Wi-Fi system.
The tri-band WAP6906, which features 10 antenna pairs and incorporates two 5 GHz and one 2.4 GHz radio, provides gigabit fiber customers with an end-to-end gigabit Wi-Fi experience. One 5 GHz radio serves as a dedicated 1733 Mbps Wi-Fi backhaul, while providing one 5GHz and one 2.4GHz radio to serve Wi-Fi clients. The dedicated backhaul channel eliminates the performance drop experienced by dual-band devices that share two Wi-Fi radios to support both Wi-Fi clients and back-haul. The WAP6906 is equipped with two gigabit Ethernet ports providing the flexibility to connect wired client devices.
Zyxel also released a new firmware upgrade for the†AC2100 Dual-Band Whole-Home Wi-Fi Extender System†(WAP6804). The upgrade enables service providers to connect the WAP6804 to their existing home gateways to create a Multy Pro Wi-Fi system that provides a high-speed, dual-band, whole-home Wi-Fi network without the need for gateway swap-outs.
MoCA System for High-Performance Whole-Home Coverage
The†Multy Pro MoCA 2.0 Wi-Fi System†includes the†AC2200 Gigabit Ethernet MoCA Gateway†(EMG6765) and†AC1300 Wi-Fi Extender with MoCA 2.0†(WAP7205). The EMG6765 gateway connects up to three WAP7205 extenders at gigabit speeds using MoCA backhaul to provide a high-performance whole-home Wi-Fi solution. The system features built-in intelligent Wi-Fi optimization and offers automatic configuration, band steering, and roaming features.
“The ability to access and utilize advanced bandwidth-intensive network applications on mobile devices is putting the pressure on solution providers to provide ultra-reliable, high-speed, always-on connectivity throughout the home and even beyond its walls,” explained Brian Feng, Senior Vice President at Zyxel. “The addition of Tri-Band and MoCA 2.0 systems to the Multy Pro portfolio gives solution providers more options to exceed their subscriber expectation for gigabit Wi-Fi home connectivity of today and the foreseeable future.”
All Zyxel Multy Pro devices support TR-069/TR-181 standards-based remote management to provide service providers extensive visibility into the subscriber network enabling them to quickly diagnose and resolve issues. TR-181 support offers extensive Wi-Fi diagnostics enabling service providers to quickly resolve any issues to reduce truck rolls and support costs while improving customer service and satisfaction.
Zyxel Multy Pro systems support a free self-help mobile app that gives users a complete view of their home network and enables them to intuitively manage features such as: enabling/disabling guest network, change/view network name and password, and manage parental control. The app also provides tools like a Wi-Fi analyzer and signal strength meter to assist subscribers in setting up an optimal Wi-Fi network.
