Fortinet has added new support for organizations with hybrid work strategies to FortiSASE, its consolidated secure access service edge solution.
The new “work from anywhere” features include performance and scalability upgrades to FortiSASE’s secure internet access feature, as well as the addition of dedicated IP support. Enhanced geolocation functionality provides access to location-based custom services as well.
In addition, FortiSASE’s secure private access component now provides expanded SD-WAN hub integration with on-premises environments, offering remote users easier secure access to corporate applications. New additions to the solution’s CASB module provide expanded application coverage and deeper control of SaaS application behavior, as well as the ability to restrict tenant access control.
Fortinet has also increased the granularity and flexibility of FortiSASE’s integration with the vendor’s FortiGate next-generation firewall to help administrators better optimize user experience by customizing when security processes are executed on-premises versus in the cloud.
“In today’s work-from-anywhere world where users are on and off the network accessing distributed applications, Fortinet empowers organizations to consistently apply enterprise-grade security across all edges. New updates to FortiSASE enhance our ability to extend FortiGuard Security Services across the SD-WAN edge and cloud edge,” said John Maddison, Fortinet’s executive vice president of products and CMO, in a media statement. “Our commitment to continuously improving what is already one of the leading single-vendor SASE solutions on the market is why we’re seeing huge customer adoption and trust in Fortinet to support their SASE journey.”
Some 55% of organizations currently support hybrid workforces, according to a recently published Fortinet survey of organizations with at least 100 employees. Nearly two thirds of participants in that study say they’ve been breached as a result of work-from-anywhere vulnerabilities.
FortiSASE combines secure web gateway, zero-trust network access, CASB, firewall-as-a-service, and SD-WAN capabilities in an integrated package designed to help companies keep users secure regardless of whether they’re at home, on the road, or in the office.
Fortinet unveiled a new 7nm application-specific integrated circuit for its FortiGate appliances offering improved performance and energy efficiency last month.
