TomTom PRO Series, coupled with Advantage SmartRoutes, offers enhanced route planning and navigation for mobile workforces and automatically determines the most efficient routes.
TomTom, a navigation solutions provider based in Concord, Mass., has announced a partnership with Advantage Integrated Solutions, an Intuit QuickBase consultant-developer, to optimize business fleet organization and itinerary planning on TomTom PRO Series navigation devices. TomTom PRO Series, a new line of navigation devices developed for businesses with mobile workforces, offers GPS navigation, a free map update, and support services.
With the Advantage SmartRoutes Internet application, the TomTom PRO Series now offers a way for fleet managers and route dispatchers to organize, plan, and optimize routes. The solution also gives drivers mapping information about the locations to which they are navigating.
“Every day companies with mobile workforces are challenged to direct all their people to all the places they need to go. The TomTom PRO Series navigation devices, combined with the Advantage SmartRoutes application, provides a complete and affordable business fleet solution that marries the best in point-to-point navigation with the easiest route planning,” says Scott Wyatt, CEO of Advantage Integrated Solutions. “And our customers appreciate having a central Web repository to hold and manage all their location and address information. In short, the TomTom PRO Series and SmartRoutes software solution is essential for any sized business fleet looking to maximize dispatcher and driver productivity, reduce driving costs, improve safety, and enhance service levels.”
The TomTom PRO Series is comprised of two models: the PRO 4000 and the PRO 8000. Both include TomTom features such as TomTom Map Share, the company’s map improvement technology that enables users to access the most up-to-date map information available; and the “Help Me!” emergency resources menu, millions of points of interest; as well as TomTom’s Latest Map Guarantee. The PRO 8000 also comes equipped with navigation features such as IQ Routes, a proprietary routing technology that plans the best route based on actual average drive times; Advanced Lane Guidance; Voice Address Input; and Bluetooth hands-free calling. These features are designed to enable companies to improve their day-to-day planning and to increase productivity while ensuring the safety of their drivers.
The TomTom PRO Series with Advantage SmartRoutes is customizable and supports a range of business routing scenarios. For example, ussing Advantage SmartRoutes and TomTom’s “Add to TomTom” functionality, a dispatcher can centralize and automatically geo-code map, customer, and other destination information. He or she can then visually create and download full, optimized itineraries onto each PRO Series device for the driver. The populated, enhanced TomTom navigation units take the drivers from wherever they are to all the places they need to go, in sequence, most efficiently. Destination data can be input online or imported from Excel or other source systems.
“TomTom is committed to providing the best business navigation solutions on the market,” says Tim Roper, executive vice president of sales for TomTom Inc. “Companies increasingly deploy the TomTom PRO Series line to ensure easy and safe navigation, while achieving measurable productivity gains. Our partnership with companies like Advantage Integrated Solutions gives TomTom a powerful solution to offer enhanced services like optimized route planning.”
