Comodo Announces EasyVPN Collaboration Tool
Software simulates local LAN connections through the Web.
It’s often inconvenient to house documents and files on just one PC–some need editing by multiple workers and some require collaboration between peers separated by anywhere from five feet to 5,000 miles. To make file sharing easier, Jersey City, N.J-based Comodo announced the release of EasyVPN, software for commercial use that enables businesses to simulate local LAN connections through the Web using a Virtual Private Network. For a limited time, commercial users of EasyVPN will be offered discount prices when purchasing multiple annual licenses.
When EasyVPN is installed, users can create a network that colleagues can join; anyone who joins the network can then ask other members to allow remote access to their PCs. Once that access is provided, all members of the network will have the ability to share the contents of their computers with one another. For security, the software uses 128-bit encryption.
EasyVPN comes with an encrypted instant messaging client that enables all members of a network to communicate in one chat box. There is no limit to the number of members who can join a given network.
