Tech Data Corp., an IT products distributor, has opened a new 25,000-square-foot West Coast integration center. The new facility is co-located with the company’s Fontana, Calif. logistics center.
Coupled with its ISO 9001:2000-certified Swedesboro, N.J. integration center, Tech Data now offers resellers access to state-of-the-art configuration facilities on both coasts.
Tech Data’s vice president of government, technical, and integration services Barb Miller says the company’s bi-coastal capabilities enable access to what she calls “the channel’s most optimized distribution network for custom-configured solutions.”
According to Miller, resellers have to honor service contracts with customers that have branch offices or remote workers across the country. With the distributor’s new West Coast facility, Miller says, Tech Data can now “route configuration orders to either coast, helping resellers meet their SLA commitments while cutting costs and saving time.”
Through both facilities, Tech Data’s TDIntegration services team offers preloading and configuration services for hundreds of systems notebooks, servers, routers and other devices with hardware inserts and software applications that meet specific end-user requirements. Miller says these services “help resellers free up valuable technical resources, keeping them in the field, generating billable hours, and not in the back office, assembling components, loading software, and repackaging hardware.”
Tech Data can custom configure everything from basic desktops to complex multi-server rack systems. The distributor also offers custom bundles and asset-tagging services. It ships products to end-users on behalf of resellers, using reseller-branded delivery services.
