Tripp Lite Gives SmartOnline 3-Phase UPS Systems an Economy Mode
Manufacturer says the mode provides “lower heat output, reduced cooling requirements, and associated electrical savings.”
Tripp Lite has developed its latest line of SmartOnline 3-Phase UPS system so that they now incorporate an “Economy Mode” function. Operating in this mode, the SmartOnline 3-Phase series can achieve an efficiency rating of up to 97 percent.
In a corporate statement, Tripp Lite says, “Economy Mode yields a significant reduction in operating costs through lower heat output, reduced cooling requirements, and associated electrical savings.”
According to Dave Slotten, Tripp Lite’s director of product management, roughly 1.5 percent of energy in the United States was consumed by data centers in 2006. This figure was one that Tripp Lite felt it could affect.
“Tripp Lite’s 3-Phase units not only provide premium protection for mission-critical applications,” he says, “they also perform at a level of efficiency that reduces overhead, improves financial performance, and allows businesses to operate in an environmentally responsible way.”
Key features and benefits of the new developments include:
- Savings & Green Features–Economy Mode boasts up to 97 percent efficiency rating.
- Smart Conversion–Double-conversion mode is utilized only when utility power quality demands it.
- Modular 3-Phase Capabilities–These models provide N? and parallel capabilities.
- Wide Range of Models–Capacities from 20 kVA to 160 kVA available for global applications.
