Connotate, a maker of business intelligence solutions, has extended its Agent Community GEN2 platform to the developer community.
Connotate says its Developer Edition enables developers and programmers to customize agents using Microsoft’s Visual Studio.
Building on Connotate’s platform–as well as its patented visual abstraction technology–Connotate says its Developer Edition enables individual developers and development teams to “get under the hood of agent creation and complement agents via a high degree of programmatic control.”
In a recent press release, Connotate states that Developers can directly add scripts, loops, or API calls to further customize agents, adding granular skills and functions. “The Developer Edition makes it so that every Web source is a target for quick and easy agent creation,” the company says.
Bruce Molloy, CEO of Connotate, calls the Developer Edition “a powerful combination of automatic agent creation using machine intelligence, coupled with a high degree of programmatic control”
“This latest addition to our suite enables us to offer 100 percent coverage of the Web universe, in addition to RSS, databases, and other unstructured data sources,” Molloy says. “Other approaches require programming or HTML knowledge, take considerably longer to create, and are much less reliable.”
The Developer Edition leverages Microsoft’s Visual Studio IDE (integrated development environment) to help ensure accelerated application development, delivery of breakthrough user experiences, and effective collaboration. Visual Studio enables developers to create agents that “build connected solutions and streamline business processes” and “Focus on real business challenges and accelerate solution development.”
Connotate says the APIs and Web services enable developers to connect agent alerts, deliveries, and schedules to other systems or applications. In addition, the productivity, performance, and scalability of both Visual Studio and the Developers Edition help enable developers to create agents in a short amount of the time, “creating synergies between the technical and business sides of the business,” the company says.
