Discovery Education Launches BrightLink Training Series
The professional development provider has teamed up with Epson in creating courses centered on the BrightLink 450Wi interactive projector.
Printer, scanner, and projector innovator Epson has partnered with Discovery Education in the creation of interactive learning programs for educators and administrators.
Discovery Education provides digital content and professional development resources for academic settings. Its new partnership with Epson will provide education professionals with the training needed to implement Epson’s BrightLink 450 Wi interactive projector into the classroom.
According to Epson, the courses will demonstrate instructional strategies and techniques that employ the company’s new BrightLink 450Wi interactive projector with interactive presentation tools, Google tools, Web 2.0 applications, as well as Discovery Education’s own digital content to engage.

Available in this month (June 2010), Discovery Education will add four additional professional development courses to its repertoire that are focused on training teachers to effectively use and integrate the Epson BrightLink 450Wi into instruction.
These courses include:
- BrightLink and Web 2.0 applications
- BrightLink and Discovery Education digital content
- BrightLink and interactive presentation tools
- BrightLink and Google tools
The Epson BrightLink 450Wi is a projector designed to turn standard whiteboards (or most any smooth wall) into an interactive learning area. It is also aimed at eliminating the need for schools to purchase and install dedicated interactive whiteboards.
The BrightLink 450Wi features 2,500 lumens color light output and 2,500 lumens white light output. It also features networkability, wireless capabilities, and connectivity. It delivers WXGA resolution (16:10 aspect ratio) and projects from 55-inches diagonal to up to 96-inches diagonal (WXGA) and up to 85-inches diagonal (XGA).
