ZyXEL Debuts 802.11n Guest Access Hotspot Gateway with Printer and Billing Capabilities
The gateway is designed as an access controller for service providers or hotspot operators to deploy high-speed Internet access service for guests.
ZyXEL Communications Inc., a provider of broadband networking, Internet connectivity, and routing products, introduced the N4100, the industry’s first 802.11n hotspot gateway integrated with a four-port switch. It is designed as an access controller for service providers or hotspot operators to quickly and easily deploy high-speed Internet access service for guests. N4100 is the next-generation upgrade to ZyXEL’s current top selling 11g hospitality gateway, the G4100.
With its IP Plug and Play technology, N4100 accepts any client configuration for log-on. There’s no need for the end user to change any of their default network, email, or browser settings to access hotspot service. The ZyXEL N4100 is also a Wi-Fi certified 802.11n device, so the wireless coverage and performance are improved over 802.11g standards. Hotspot business owners, such as coffee houses, book stores, hotels or resorts do not need any other hardware or software to provide hotspot service.
The N4100 supports credit card billing via Authorize.net, iValidate.net, SecurePay, and Paypal, allowing operators to generate reoccurring revenue or give the service away as a value-add to attract more customers. IP Plug and Play gets users online quickly regardless of their network configuration settings, simplifying and lowering support costs. The optional SP300E ticket printer simplifies account administration with one-touch dynamic account generation. The venue owner simply presses a button and hands the printed ticket to the customer for login access.
