Infortrend Adds 6 GB/S SAS Model to Its ESVA FC Series
The storage innovator’s latest ESVA FC SAN storage supports solid-state drives and FC SANs.
Storage innovator Infortrend has expanded its Enterprise Scalable Virtualized Architecture (ESVA) Fibre Channel (FC) series with a new F60 8 Gb/s FC to 6Gb/s SAS 
model.
The Infortrend ESVA FC Series of RAID storage systems is a midrange storage solution designed to support FC SANs. According to Infortrend, “the ESVA FC SAN storage can help enterprises optimize return on investment, simplify storage infrastructure, and maximize application productivity.”
In addition to its 6 Gb/s SAS drive connectivity, the new storage system also supports solid-state disks (SSDs), enabling boosted IOPS performance and reduced energy consumption.
“With vendors no longer shipping 3 Gb/s SAS drives, 6 Gb/s SAS drives are quickly becoming the new standard,” states Infortrend in a press release submitted to EH Publishing.
