STEC and Infortrend Partner on SSD Project
The companies are pairing Infortrend’s ESVA FC Series with STEC’s ZeusIOPS SSD.
Storage innovator Infortrend has teamed up with STEC, supplier of solid-state drives, on a project that pairs Infortrend’s Enterprise Scalable Virtualized Architecture (ESVA) F60 FC Series of RAID storage systems with STEC’s ZeusIOPS SSD on a SAS storage system set.
The integration of the STEC ZeusIOPS Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) SSD enhances Infortrend’s ESVA F60-2830 by advancing the IO performance of the systems in a scalable manner. ESVA F60 users are provided with more options in drive selection and can add IO performance in a scalable matter.
Infortrend’s vice president of global marketing James Hsieh says his company decided to collaborate with STEC in order to “boost storage system performance.”
For STEC’s part, Scott Stetzer, the company’s vice president of technical marketing, says the partnership lays the groundwork for “introduction of enterprise-class SSDs into the worldwide market.”
“SSDs are revolutionizing the way businesses access critical data,” Stetzer says, “by overcoming the performance bottleneck inherent in traditional rotating media HDD storage.”
