The Avocent DSView 3 and the Avocent Power Manager plug-in now support the Liebert MPX and Liebert MPH rack PDU product lines for monitoring and metering.
Emerson Network Power announced an integrated product offering last week from its Avocent and Liebert businesses. It is the first of such integration since Emerson’s acquisition of Avocent six months ago. The product is aimed at data center managers and engineers looking to optimize rack load capacity and energy consumption.
The Avocent DSView 3 and the Avocent Power Manager plug-in now support the Liebert MPX and Liebert MPH rack PDU product lines for real-time monitoring and metering, with alarm notifications and management capabilities.
Avocent DSView 3 management software enables secure, out-of-band, centralized management of connected IT and network devices. Avocent Power Manager software adds power-monitoring capabilities to the DSView 3 software. “The addition of Avocent Power Manager gives companies the ability to monitor and measure IT energy consumption and determine costs and trends across all levels within their data centers,” says Emerson Network Power in a press release to EH Publishing.
The Liebert MPX and MPH rack PDU systems offer flexible remote management functionality, including receptacle-level control, power monitoring, and environmental monitoring.
The integration of these products adds the management functionality of Liebert MPH and MPX to Avocent DSView 3 and Power Manager. Existing customers that have Avocent DSView 3 software now have the ability to enable access, control, and reporting of the Liebert MPH and MPX product lines. Existing Liebert MPH and MPX customers also have the ability to purchase Avocent DSView 3 software for single console access to their heterogeneous rack equipment.
“We are thrilled to introduce the first of many Avocent product integrations across the Emerson Network Power portfolio of products and solutions,” says Steve Hassell, president of the Avocent products and services business of Emerson Network Power.
