APC Launches New Data Center Software Business
Company refocuses on providing software and management systems for data center infrastructures.
APC by Schneider Electric introduced a new specialized data center software business this week. The Data Center Software business will be responsible for advancing all software and management systems for the data center physical infrastructure.
According to APC, the Data Center Software business will be a key contributor to Schneider Electric’s Ecostruxure architecture, and a strong supporter of Schneider Electric’s energy management initiatives. APC’s InfraStruxure management software portfolio will be the focus of this team.
This specialized business will be led by Soeren B. Jensen, APC’s vice president of data center software.
“Through InfraStruxure, the Data Center Software business will simplify and drive energy and operational efficiency entitlements across all aspects of the data center,” the company states in a press release submitted to EH Publishing.
APC reports that the Data Center Software team will have direct accountability for software development and the creation, sales, service, marketing, and partner programs.
“This evolution within APC is well aligned with the Schneider Electric vision of becoming the world leader in energy management,” APC president and CEO Laurent Vernerey.
The APC InfraStruxure management software portfolio includes InfraStruxure Operations, InfraStruxure Central, InfraStruxure Capacity, InfraStruxure Change, and InfraStruxure Energy Efficiency.
