Tripp Lite Adds ‘Cat5 Extender Kit’ Remote Access Product
The company’s new Serial over Cat5 Extender transmitter and receiver kit is compatible with all RS-232 protocols.
Tripp Lite has a new Serial over Cat5 Extender Kit for providing remote access to a RS-232 protocol device.
The new Cat5 Extender Kit (Model B165-101) is designed to be a cost-effective solution for PC-to-PC file transfer, touch screen displays, and other applications that utilize serial communications. It is compatible with all RS-232 protocols.
“Many computers and peripherals are still dependent on serial communications,” says Tripp Lite product manager David Posner. “Our new Serial over Cat5 Extender Kit offers a simple, economical way to establish serial communications between RS-232 devices over long distances.”
The B165-101 extends control or a serial device to over 1,000 meters (3,280 feet), with full duplex data communication. It also sports plug-and-play installation without the need for software or drivers.
