Nexenta and Supermicro Strike Technology Partnership
Supermicro resellers are now included in Nexenta’s Reseller Partner Program, pairing the 3U Super Storage Bridge Bay solution with the NexentaStor unified storage management platform.
Open storage solutions provider Nexenta Systems has entered into a joint technology partnership with components-maker Super Micro Computer Inc. Under the terms of the new partnership, over a half dozen Supermicro resellers are being included in Nexenta’s Reseller Partner Program.
In addition, Nexenta Systems and Supermicro have pre-certified the combination of Supermicro’s 3U Super Storage Bridge Bay (SBB) solution and NexentaStor, Nexenta’s unified storage management platform built on the open source ZFS file system.
As a result, states Nexenta in a press release submitted to EH Publishing, “Supermicro resellers can now offer customers a storage solution that provides higher functionality, performance, and value-for-money than legacy storage technologies.”
“Only one month after launching our reseller and technology partner programs, we are proud to add Supermicro as a premier-level Technology Partner,” says Nexenta vice president of business development Jason Yoho. “We believe it is a fundamental stepping stone to the growth of the reseller program.”
For Supermicro’s part, the company’s vice president of international sales, Wally Liaw, says the partnership reflects a natural pairing of products. “Some of our customers are already experiencing the performance and reliability of combining Supermicro’s Super SBB with NexentaStor software,” he says. “This Technology Partner Program ensures the continued certification of our storage hardware with Nexenta’s OpenStorage solutions.”
Seven Supermicro resellers are joining the Nexenta Reseller Partner Program. Two are already offering the package of certified SBB and NexentaStor software, including Nordisk Systems Inc. and VA Technologies.
