TRENDnet Introduces 500 Mbps Powerline AV Adapter
The networking hardware manufacturer touts itself as being “the first brand to actually launch these exciting new 500 Mbps Powerline solutions to the market.”
Networking hardware maker TRENDnet has rolled out two new Powerline AV Adapter products for general availability in the channel: a 500 Mbps Powerline AV Adapter (Model TPL-401E) and 500 Mbps Powerline AV Adapter Kit (Model TPL-401E2K).
The 500 Mbps Powerline AV Adapter can be plugged into any electrical outlet to create a secure 500 Mbps building-wide network. One adapter can be connected to a router and another adapter can then be plugged into an outlet for high-speed network access. The adapters can be connected using a one-touch connect button. Up to 16 Powerline adapters can be used to network devices in different rooms without running cable.
A Gigabit Ethernet port maintains a wired connection. Each Powerline adapter can be managed on a network with the included Windows utility. LED displays convey device status for troubleshooting. Advanced 128-bit AES encryption secures the network.
The 500 Mbps Powerline AV Adapter Kit includes two 500 Mbps Powerline AV Adapters, which are required to start a Powerline network.
“Despite early announcements from competing brands, TRENDnet is excited to be the first brand to actually launch these exciting new 500 Mbps Powerline solutions to the market,” says TRENDnet CEO and president Pei Huang
The 500 Mbps Powerline AV Adapter (Model TPL-401E) carries an MSRP of $99.99, and the adapter kit (Model TPL-401E2K) has an MSRP of $179.99.
