New ECO-Surge Suppressor Enables Remote Power Off
Tripp Lite’s TLP66RCG model adds RF remote control in order to cut power behind such obstacles as desks and entertainment centers.
Power protection innovator Tripp Lite has a new ECO-Surge Suppressor model. The new TLP66RCG provides a total of six energy-saving AC outlets, four of which are
controllable with an included keychain RF remote.
The ability to control a surge suppressor by RF remote means that outlets behind such obstacles as entertainment centers or desk configurations can be shut down to avoid “phantom loads.”
“Phantom loads” occur when electronics continue to consume electricity even when a device appears
to be turned off. Because the RF remote works through walls and furniture, outlets can be easily shut down entirely to avoid these loads.
Key features of the new ECO-Surge Suppressor TLP66RCG model include:
- Remotely controllable outlets
- Four Power Save outlets that can be turned off when devices are connected to them
- Two switched (always-on) outlets for devices that require continuous power
- 433 MHz remote that works through walls and furniture up to 50 feet
- Six unique codes so that multiple surge suppressors to be controlled by a single remote
- Manufacturing that’s done in accordance with RoHS environmental standards † †
