TRENDnet Demos Latest 450 Mbps Tech Router at CES
The company is calling the 450 Mbps concurrent dual band wireless N router the “first to market” of its kind.
Networking innovator TRENDnet used CES to demonstrate its 450 Mbps concurrent dual band wireless N router this week.
The router, model TEW-692GR, is being touted by TRENDnet as the “first to market” of its kind. It offers full 450 Mbps technology on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless bands. “Concurrent dual band technology sustains both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless networks at the same time,” states a TRENDnet announcement from CES in Las Vegas.
In addition, the new router offers channel pros multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna technology with three spatial streams per antenna. This generates a maximum theoretical wireless throughput of 450 Mbps.
“A true 450 Mbps concurrent router will provide the networking enthusiast with another great option,” TRENDnet technology director Sonny Su told the CES crowd this week. “With the proliferation of so many wireless networked devices, performance matters more than ever before.”
Additional features of the model TEW-692GR router include:
- Gigabit Ethernet Ports
- Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)
- WMM Technology
The 450 Mbps concurrent dual band wireless N router, model TEW-692GR, comes with a three-year limited warranty and will be available from TRENDnet’s online and retail partners this coming April.
The MSRP for the TEW-692GR is $249.99.†
