Supermicro will now carry the combination of Supermicro’s 3U Super Storage Bridge Bay (SBB) solution and NexentaStor as a SKU in their price list.
OpenStorage solutions provider Nexenta Systems has formed a partnership with Super Micro Computer Inc. to bring NexentaStor-powered devices to the channel.
Nexenta launched a Platinum Support level of service this week for storage product end-users. The partnership with Supermicro serves to punctuate this strategic development.
“Value-added resellers will benefit from improved hardware that is more closely integrated with NexentaStor as well as an additional tier of end user support services,” the company says in a statement submitted to Channel Pro-SMB.
ADDRESSING TRENDS IN THE CHANNEL
According to Nexenta, use in the channel of the company’s NexentaStor-based sales by VARs are expected to increase from $70 to $100 million in 2010 to approximately $350 to $400 million in 2011. By growing its partnership with Supermicro, Nexenta will be able reach more channel pros as these trends continue.
According to the terms of their agreement, Supermicro will carry the combination of Super micro’s 3U Super Storage Bridge Bay (SBB) solution and NexentaStor as a SKU in their price list. This extends the existing relationship — Supermicro became a premier-level partner in Nexenta’s Technology Partner Program in August 2010.
“By adding the combination of Supermicro’s Super SBB and NexentaStor software into our catalog,” says Wally Liaw, Supermicro’s vice president of international sales, “we’re essentially removing any technical limitations for our resellers. So, they can provide what their customers are demanding: performance and reliability at a reasonable price.”
