Grandstream Introduces Its First 5-Megapixel, Wide-Area Surveillance Camera

The new camera features multi-rate H.264 and MJPEG real-time (30fps) video compression and full HD (1080p) video imaging.

IP voice/video telephony and video surveillance solutions provider Grandstream Networks introduced its first 5-Megapixel Camera to the channel this week.

The GXV3651 FHD †broadens Grandstream’s GXV IP Camera product family. The new 5-megapixel camera with full HD video imaging (1,920×1,080p) at 30fps targets wide area surveillance applications that require high resolution and image quality under various lighting conditions, including malls, warehouses, universities, government, hospitals, casinos, parking areas, street traffic, etc.

The new camera features multi-rate H.264 and MJPEG real-time (30fps) video compression and full HD (1080p) video imaging. It incorporates an advanced imaging sensor with wide dynamic range and low light sensibility, day/night mode with built-in IR CUT, integrated PoE, manual and auto IRIS, SDHC interface for local storage, ONVIF compliance, and HTTP API for easy integration with various video management systems.

The new 5-megapixel camera “raises the bar with its ability to capture hard-to-see image details,” states Grandstream in a press release submitted to Channel Pro-SMB. It is designed to provide “extreme high-quality under various light conditions (such as employees counting money or players’ activities in casinos) face recognition in high-traffic areas (such as airports or train stations), money transactions in various bank teller windows, and car plate recognition at busy toll booths or in a large parking lot, for example.”

All GXV camera models can be managed with GSurf, Grandstream’s free video management software that controls up to 36 cameras simultaneously.

The GXV3651_FHD IP camera is available immediately for purchase through Grandstream’s worldwide distribution channels at a MSRP of $499.
