Ingate Systems makes session border controllers (SBCs), which are solutions that enable SIP communications, like SIP trunking and Unified Communications, beyond the protected network. This month, Ingate Systems introduced the Ingate SIParator 21 and Ingate Firewall 1210, new SBCs designed for small- to medium-sized businesses.
The SIParator 21 and Firewall 1210 are designed to offer faster, greater throughput at an SMB-friendly price point. The new SBCs enable up to 50 concurrent voice (or RTP) sessions, serving SMBs with up to 250 employees.†Both products are available now in the channel.
The SIParator 21 features four 10/100/1000 Mbit/s interfaces and use Compact Flash for storage.† With an activated data Firewall, it has a throughput beyond 200 Mbit/s.
“These new products are designed to meet the needs of the SMB,” says Ingate president Steven Johnson. “Ingate’s SBCs enable the full breadth of Unified Communications applications as well, offering SMBs a significant competitive advantage.”
Ingate SBCs enable secure SIP into the network, making SIP trunking and unified communications possible. Ingate SIParators work hand-in-hand with an existing network firewall to enable SIP traffic to traverse the enterprise edge. Alternatively, the built-in firewall can be enabled to provide full security for all SIP and data traffic with the single Ingate device.
Intrusion Detection System/Intrusion Prevention System (IDS/IPS) solutions for SIP are bundled as a free software module with every Ingate SIParator and Firewall.†IDS/IPS protects against attacks targeting SIP devices, such as IP-PBXs and SIP phones. IDS/IPS works in tandem with Ingate’s existing security technologies.
