Nexsan, a disk-based storage system provider, has added a new NAS storage system to its E5000 family. The new E5510 offers over 1 PB of capacity in 27U of rack space and combines support for both asynchronous and synchronous replication. The new NAS system includes Nexsan’s FASTier SSD caching technology and is ideal for capacity-sensitive applications.
The asynchronous data replication feature allows users to configure off-site data replication separately for each storage pool in the primary E5000 system, and allows for the manual transfer of data on the E5000 to an external storage device for offline replication. The synchronous data replication feature allows users to mirror the data contained in a storage pool between a source Nexsan storage system and a target Nexsan storage system, connected to the E5000 via Fibre Channel.
As the latest addition to the E5000 family of SAN storage systems, the E5510 offers:
- FASTier, which leverages multiple tiers of SSD technology to accelerate storage system performance with NL-SAS, SATA, or SAS drives
- AutoMAID Technology delivers up to 85 percent reduction in power consumption
- Extreme Density with Active Drawer Technology simplifies maintenance by providing continuous operation, even if a drive drawer is opened to service disks or fans
- High availability featuring dual redundant hot-pluggable storage controllers with automatic failure
- Storage virtualization-enabled features
- Shared files for servers and users via CIFS, NFS, or both protocols at the same time
- Data protection
- Rapid deployment – the system can be up and running in just 15 minutes
E5000 NAS storage systems are available today through Nexsan’s partner network, starting at $15,000. For more information, visit www.nexsan.com.
