StarTech.com, a connectivity part manufacturer, has launched the IES8100POE switch. This 8-port IEEE Power over Ethernet switch is capable of delivering up to 15.4 Watts of power and network data to up to eight PoE-complaint devices. The switch can be used as a PSE, eliminating the need for peripheral power supplies for end-point powered network devices.
The new switch features a compact metal design for industrial environments. The switch can be used with existing network wiring. Features include:
- Auto MDI/MDI-X port detection as well as full/half-duplex auto-detet
- IEEE 802.3x flow control for full-duplex and back-pressure flow control for half-duplex.
