Server solutions innovator Super Micro Computer Inc. has announced support of Microsoft Corp.’s Windows Server 2012 on its server and storage platforms.
According to a Supermicro press release submitted to ChannelPro-SMB, the “collaborative effort” between it and Microsoft addresses the need of SMBs for “high-performance, cost effective public and private cloud computing solutions.”
Supermicro SuperServer and SuperStorage solutions offer high-density computing and cost effective, high capacity, high availability storage in a wide variety of modular, scalable form factors. These platforms are designed to reduce overall TCO with advanced power and cooling designs and performance with the latest Intel Xeon E5-2600 processors.
With Windows Server 2012 software, Supermicro’s certified server and storage solutions offer “a complete integrated suite of cloud enabling technologies,” according to Supermicro, including Windows Server Hyper-V, for superior performance in terms of virtual machine scalability to management, security, networking, and data protection services.
