HomeSeer is perking up its home automation line for this year. The company announced plans to add camera support and voice programming to all existing HomeSeer products, including the new HomeTroller Zee.
These new features can be configured locally using a computer, smartphone, or other web-enabled device. Then, users can access their HomeSeer systems remotely using iOS and Android devices. According to HomeSeer, the company’s products have automatic support for popular Foscam cameras. Other brands can be added via manual configuration.
The HomeSeer HSTouch app can then provide a peek at all of the cameras connected to the system. HomeSeer also now has support for voice programming. This allows users to create events-multiple ones-with just the sound of their voice. The new camera and voice features will be available for Android devices in January, with iOS users getting the goods sometime in the first quarter of 2014.
HomeSeer systems are designed to work with a variety of home automation products that use Z-Wave. That lineup includes standards and products from Cooper, Schlage, Kwikset, Baldwin, Yale, GE, Honeywell, Leviton, Linear, Everspring, Evolve, Fibaro, FortrezZ, Aeon Labs, RCS, and many more.
