Photizo Group’s Transform Global 2014 conference for the imaging industry kicks off today and runs through June 4 at The Galt House in Louisville, Ky. The three days of presentations will focus on the topics that are at the forefront of the imaging industry’s fluctuating landscape; there will also be workshops and sessions for manufacturers, industry resellers, and the CXO community. The education provided at the event is focused primarily on transforming imaging businesses from product-led to services-led.
In addition, Transform†Global 2014 will host the Managed Print Services Association Leadership Awards (MPSA).
The conference opens Monday with two half-day workshops. The dealer/reseller workshop is focusing on the issues faced by managed print services (MPS) providers, led by West McDonald, owner of FocusMPS. Topics include: incorporating simple workflow practices into your MPS practice, selling multifunctional devices (MFDs), BYOD, and billing models.
†The OEM Channel Strategy Workshop is being led by Photizio Group’s Edward Crowley, founder and CEO; Ken Stewart, practice director, services; and Mario D√≠az, vice president of consulting.
There is a CompTIA MPS Community meeting in the afternoon.
On Tuesday, speaker and author Jim Lawless gives the keynote. Lawless is author of the book Taming Tigers†(Virgin/Random House)†and an authority on personal development, leadership, and change. That is followed by a presentation on “The MPSA Managed Print Services Framework—ITIL in Motion.”
The afternoon includes sessions in three tracks: Imaging Industry, Building the MPS Practice, and Implementing and Managing MPS.
On Wednesday, Photizio’s Crowley gives the keynote, “Print Is Dead … Or Is It?” That will be followed by an executive panel discussion, and then afternoon sessions.
Capping the conference, the Photizo Foundation, a nonprofit organization started by Crowley, is hosting the fourth annual Imaging Industry VIP Charity Dinner, which is also open to the general public. Proceeds from the event benefit the American Cancer Society, Eastern Congo Initiative, Casas por Cristo, and Hope Hill. The event is co-sponsored by Office Document Consulting.
