Designed for homeowners and renters, the newly announced D.I.Y. Security Kit – HD Edition (DCH-101KT) and the D.I.Y. Security Kit – HD Pan & Tilt Edition (DCH-301KT) by D-Link comes packing three of the company’s most popular security solutions. – a Wi-Fi Camera, the Wi-Fi Smart Plug, and the Wi-Fi Motion Sensor. Both kits also include free cloud video recording, which can capture footage based on motion triggers.
Users can access these kits through the free mydlink Home app for iOS and Android devices. The WiFi Camera provides live video feeds from anywhere, with the WiFi Motion Sensor offering alerts when motion is detected. The WiFi Smart Plug adds a bit of home automation into the mix, so you can turn devices and appliances on and off from almost anywhere.
Of course, each product works alone or you can pair all three, so that whenever motion is detected, the lights turn on and the camera starts recording. D-Link WiFi Cameras can also be paired with the company’s Network Video Recorder (NVR) to record and save video locally, but mydlink Cloud storage allows users to store up to 10 30-second clips per day “on a first-in-first-out rolling week” basis.
The HD Edition includes the HD WiFi Camera (DCS-935L), which boasts 720p video quality and automatic night vision in up to 16 feet of complete darkness. The HD Pan & Tilt Edition (pictured) has the HD Pan & Tilt Wi-Fi Camera (DCS-5222L), with pan and tilt features, a 98-degree horizontal field of view lens, 720p video quality, and night vision up to 26 feet.
