Lenovo has introduced the company’s first compute stick, the Lenovo ideacentre Stick 300, designed for consumer usage in the home and on the go. Paired with a 2.4GHz keyboard and mouse, the new plug and play technology transforms any monitor into a PC, supporting a web-enabled, Windows-ready work or entertainment station.
With prices starting at $129, the Lenovo ideacentre Stick 300 provides the performance promise of an Intel Atom Processor Z3735F, initially shipping with Windows 8.1 but will be eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 10. Additionally, the compute stick comes with 2G of memory, 32GB of storage, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.0.
“We’ve looked at the computing needs of travelers, business people, and families, and realized that a truly portable and affordable solution would be a significant benefit to users of all kinds,” says Jun Ouyang, vice president and general manager, Worldwide Desktop and Visuals, Lenovo. “Our goal with the ideacentre Stick 300 is to give those users a sense of freedom and enhanced mobility, while packing a serious punch in a small device.”
The Lenovo ideacentre Stick 300 will be available on www.lenovo.com and will hit North America retail shelves starting in October.
