Toshiba’s Business Solutions Division (BSD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., has released several new laptops designed to meet the varying needs of small and mid-sized businesses. Expanding on its SMB offerings to provide more choices in form factors, security, and dock capabilities, the new laptops include the 14-inch Tecra C40 and Tecra A40, the 13.3-inch Portégé A30, the 15.6-inch Tecra A50, and the refreshed 15.6-inch Tecra C50.
The C Series laptops and the step-up A Series laptops are powered by Intel 6th Generation Core processors, while the entry-level Tecra C50 is powered by an Intel 5th Generation Core processor. Each device ships with Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system and will include Microsoft Windows 10 upgrade licensing rights in the packaging.
The higher-end A Series laptops are equipped with a docking port and utilize the High Speed Port Replicator, a common feature among the Tecra and Portege line. The A Series notebooks also include a Fingerprint Reader, spill-resistant, full-size backlit keyboard and Accupoint pointing system.
For more efficient collaboration and sharing, the laptops include a FHD webcam, Bluetooth v4.0, the latest dual-band 802.11ac + abgn Wi-Fi, and are wireless display ready. Additionally, the laptops feature USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, plus full-size HDMI and VGA ports, Gigabit Ethernet, and an SD Card reader. The line of dongle-free devices include a built-in ODD and a user replaceable battery.
With these new laptops, the company is offering the Toshiba Quality Replacement Guarantee. If the LCD panel, hard drive, memory, or system board fails within the first year of ownership, Toshiba will replace the unit with a new laptop. The 15.6-inch, 14-inch, and 13.3-inch Tecra and Portégé Laptops are now available. Pricing for the C Series starts at $545.99, while the A Series starts at $829.99.
