Datto Inc. has added two entry-level wireless switches to its Datto Networking product line.
Called the L8 and L24 and designed in response to feedback from MSPs, the new units are the first of what will eventually be a broader family of L-Series devices optimized for environments with lower power requirements. L-Series switches bear lower price points than Norwalk, Conn.-based Datto’s earlier E-Series models as well.
“As the newest additions to Datto Networking’s line of switches, the L-Series reinforces just how much Datto values the feedback of our MSP partners and our commitment to responding with solutions that help them address their client needs,” said John Tippett, vice president of Datto Networking, in prepared remarks. “We look forward to evolving our networking solutions together with our partners as we continue our expansion in this space.”
The L8 is an eight port switch with an overall PoE budget of 55 watts. The L24 has 24 ports, plus two SFP slots and two RJ45 ports. Its total PoE budget is 250 watts. Like all Datto switches, both products come with extensive layer 2 functionality, including IEEE802.3ad Link Aggregation, Port Mirroring, Port Trunking, and more.
Datto launched its networking portfolio in January, and integrated it with the ConnectWise Automate RMM system in June at its 2017 North American DattoCon partner conference. The company introduced a new managed power distribution unit at that event as well.
Despite being such a newcomer to the networking market, Datto won the bronze medal for networking in ChannelPro‘s 2017 Readers’ Choice Awards.
