Dell Technologies is a force in PC monitors, being the No. 1 monitor company for over a decade. Its lines include 22-inch budget displays, high-performance gaming monitors, 32-inch 6K displays, and almost everything in between.
In an effort to triple check that it has the perfect monitor for you or your customer, Dell announced two new series of monitors, dubbed P and S, which are suited for a variety of use cases and price points.
The new line you’d likely be most interested in is the P-Series, targeted at business professionals craving “all-day comfort and easy connectivity,” thanks to extensive ports and features to help reduce eyestrain. At its core, these are 22-, 24-, or 27-inch IPS displays running at an improved 100Hz refresh rate that produces smoother visuals and reduces harmful, low blue light emissions. There are 1080p options for every size, while the 24- and 27-inch models with an integrated USB-C hub run a more business-friendly WUXGA (16:10) resolution.
Connectivity varies across the line, but all have HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB. The non-hub models get VGA, while the USB-C hub models trade that for a DisplayPort output. The most attractive are the USB-C hub models, which add RJ-45 networking and USB-C upstream and downstream connections with 15W power delivery. That makes it easy to connect to a device with a single cable.
The stand (on models that come with it) looks attractive, and offers bi-directional tilt, pivot, and swivel for those who want to run it portrait style.
S-Series
The S-Series pc monitor line is more lifestyle-inspired, targeted at families, students, and general consumers, but could easily be considered for any customer looking for something with a less business-focused design or improved audio performance.
There are 1080p 24 and 27-inch options available, both including the eyestrain-reducing features as noted above, and adding VRR to one of the 27-inch models. Dell said the audio was upgraded by building in dual 5W speakers that offer “deeper, punchier bass and wider soundscape showcasing impressive audio capability.” Users can easily choose between five presets (Standard, Movie, Game, Music, Voice) and one customizable audio profile to tailor for every moment.
All come in an ash white color which is “soothing to the eyes and complements any environment,” per Dell. The included stand (on models that come with it) is height-adjustable with tilt, pivot, and swivel functions.
Sustainability
According to Dell, both PC monitor lines are designed using 85% post-consumer recycled and closed loop ITE-derived plastic, 50% recycled steel, 100% recycled aluminum, and at least 20% recycled glass. The P-series monitors also meet the EnergyStar, EPEAT Gold, TCO and TCO Edge standards.
Another energy saving feature in Dell Display Manager, the new PowerNap mode, dims or puts the monitor to sleep and lowers energy use by up to 14.8%. All ship in boxes made from 100% renewable content that can be recycled and are packed with a more sustainable fiber-based cushioning.
