MSP Community Minds Hosts Attendees in Denver

The new two-day event from the MSP Initiative features educational panels and breakout sessions around the disciplines of MSP business operations.

The MSP Initiative has a new initiative called MSP Community Minds, taking place in Denver, Colo., August 14 and 15 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Denver Tech Center. The event is bringing together finance, operations, human resources, sales, legal, and marketing experts to provide hands-on sessions in each discipline of MSP business operations.

George Bardissi, founder and CEO of the MSP Initiative, which pioneered the Channel Strong bus tour during the COVID 19 pandemic to keep the community in touch, opened the event, which has an emphasis on networking, education, and fun. After a short sponsor introduction attendees heard a Town Hall open forum with MSPs JP Keesy, founder and CEO of F1 Information Technologies; Henry Timm, president of Phantom Technology Solutions; and Danny Perry, managing partner of ITCubed, moderated by Ken Patterson of the Taylor Business Group.

Both days include breakout sessions on legal issues, employee buy-in, minimizing disruptions, the MSP of the future, customer experience, M&A, marketing, and security.

Evening festivities on the first night took place at Pindustry in Denver.

Panels on day two include one on M&A with Dan Johnson, senior vice president, western U.S., of Sourcepass; Ryan Lakin, president of IronEdge Group; and Zac Paulson, CEO of TrueIT. That was followed by a panel on the human side of cybersecurity with Roddy Bergeron, CISO at Enterprise Data Concepts; Sheldon Phillips, chief security/compliance officer at Covenant Global; and Seth Kilander, CEO at Ki Security and Compliance Group.

“It feels really good to put on a live event post the Channel Strong tour,” says Bardissi, who is also founder and CEO of bvoip. “We love live and in-person. After three years on the road crisscrossing America, we heard feedback from thousands of people on what they feel makes an event worth their while. We hope this educational blueprint helps other event makers see the value in this approach.”
