The ChannelPro Network’s Cybersecurity Online Summit: Risk and Reward, a live, single-day event held on April 18, gathered cybersecurity, compliance, legal, and managed services experts to discuss the latest security trends and threats, and how MSPs, VARs, and consultants who serve small and medium-size businesses can keep clients safer while also boosting profits.
The virtual event was the second of this year’s four online summits featuring leading channel professionals addressing top-of-mind issues and trends in cybersecurity, cloud, and managed services. All online events offer a virtual expo hall and the ability to interact live with sponsors.
“ChannelPro’s Cybersecurity Online Summit packed a lot of valuable information for our audience into one day – how to how compliance as a service, how to bundle and price security services, ways to build a security-first culture, and more,” says Michael Siggins, president and publisher of The ChannelPro Network. “Like all our events this year, both in-person and online, the Cybersecurity Online Summit delivered compelling content in lively, interactive formats that are unique in our industry.”
The April 18 summit featured the following sessions:
- The Price Is Right: A Guide to Bundling and Pricing Security Services – In a fun and lively takeoff on “The Price Is Right” game show, industry leaders Ed Correia, Will Nobles, and Erick Simpson offered tips and guidance on how MSPs can get their security stack bundled and priced to make good margin. Their advice included why MSPs should have tiered offerings, why they probably need to raise their prices, and how to have a productive conversation with customers around security.
- The MSP’s Court – Attorney Bradley Gross answered questions live from the audience on the risks and liabilities associated with providing cybersecurity.
- How to Build a Security First Culture at Your MSP – CompTIA’s Chris Johnson, senior director of cybersecurity compliance programs, walked through best practices MSPs should be following to lock down vulnerabilities in tools, processes, and people. He also reviewed the new CompTIA Cybersecurity Trustmark.
- Compliance as a Service – Compliance experts Leia Kupris Shilobod, Karl Bickmore, and Rebecca Herold shared the ins and outs of how MSPs can add compliance as a service to their portfolio.
- Ransomware Story Slam – Leading-edge managed service providers Michael Cocanower and Oli Thordarson shared their white-knuckle rescue and recovery stories and the lessons learned in this Moth-style story slam. The audience got to vote on who had the best outcome and takeaways they could apply to their own incident responses.
