ScalePad continued its expansion through acquisition strategy by acquiring Lifecycle Insights and it’s vCIO reporting tool, risk assessments, and asset
lifecycle management solutions for managed service providers. The acquisition continues ScalePad’s commitment to enhancing client engagement for MSPs with additional quarterly business review, customer success, and vCIO capabilities. The deal comes on the heels of ScalePad’s purchase of business intelligence vendor Cognition360 in February and ControlMap, a maker of cybersecurity compliance automation software for MSPs and MSSPs, in March.
“The addition of Lifecycle Insights to our offerings enhances our partner’s ability to build stronger client relationships,” said Dan Wensley, CEO of ScalePad, in a press statement. In a follow-up call, Wensley told ChannelPro, “About 25% of Lifecycle Insights’ customers also used ScalePad Lifecycle Manager, so they received both the lifecycle management tools and vCIO components we provide. It made a lot of sense to integrate.”
Lifecycle Insights was founded by former MSPs who worked with ScalePad back when the company was known as Warranty Master. “They have innovative features and share our vision of the ‘last mile’ of customer management,” Wensley noted. With the addition of all Lifecycle Insight employees, ScalePad’s employee count will now be about 170, he says. Terms of the transaction were not released.
Lifecycle Insights and Lifecycle Manager will be unified into a single, comprehensive, modular solution, and that will be integrated into ScalePad Services Marketplace, Backup Radar, ControlMap, and Cognition360. “Lifecycle had solutions that were on our product roadmap,” said Wensley. Areas of particular interest were the ways the acquisition would help asset management as well as enhance backup for Backup Rader, new business information for Cognition360, and stronger security frameworks management for ControlMap. Consolidation with popular PSA applications is underway.
Wensley didn’t offer details, but did say that ScalePad’s board authorized more acquisitions. Integrity Growth Partners made a small investment in ScalePad in 2020 and helped fund the recent acquisitions.
Separate from the Lifecycle Insights news, Wensley made a point to mention a new feature of ScalePad’s asset disposal program, which helps MSPs and their customers reclaim and refurbish replaced systems to keep them out of landfills. “We partnered with veritree, and for every device we reclaim, they plant a tree. Our goal is to plant 50k trees.” Veritree is a data-driven, restorative platform that connects nature-based solutions with mission-driven companies ready to lead the restorative economy. The ScalePad program started in March, and over 5,500 trees have already been planted.
