Dell Technologies updated its managed detection and response (MDR) tools with MDR Pro Plus, which includes services such as vulnerability management, penetration testing, managed security awareness training, and incident recovery care. Dell officials said during yesterday’s press briefing that security is a huge priority for the company, that the current security landscape remains chaotic, and that customers need better guidance.
With the tagline of “Prevent, Respond, Recover,” and aimed at the midmarket and large enterprises, where the security skills shortage remains a problem. Officials said the new MDR Pro Plus blocks routes to cyberattacks and accelerates recovery.
Dell folded CrowdStrike Falcon into its SafeGuard and Response portfolio. The addition of CrowdStrike improves Dell’s security controls across endpoints, networks, and clouds. More partnerships of this type are being developed.
Introduced today, the Product Success Accelerator (PSX) for Cyber Recovery offers a more secure and isolated Cyber Recovery vault to protect critical data against attacks and maintain business continuity. This is the first product from the new PSX family, which will be available in North America directly and through channel partners. PSX for Cyber Recovery provides a vulnerability assessment, including penetration testing, managed security awareness training, and guides to identity phishing and other malware.
Dell offers three levels of assistance with PSX for Cyber Recovery.
- Ready: Planning workshops, Dell Cyber Recovery Vault installation and configuration, a runbook, success plan, and cybersecurity skills training
- Optimize: Quarterly vault checks, recommendations, patches, updates, and policies, plus assisted restore test simulations
- Operate: Operational assistance with monitoring and activity investigations, begin remediation action, and provide support after a cyberattack
ProActive Incident Recovery Care includes calls within two hours of a reported attack to help customers plan data recovery, with additional Dell analysts available for support.
Drilling down into hardware, the newly launched version of Secured Component Verification on Cloud, designed to handle global supply chains, will issue certificates of unit contents at the factory for customers to verify when the devices arrive at their destination. This will be available on commercial Dell PCs globally starting in May. This guarantees no components have been tampered with in transit and is popular with FedRAMP resellers and users.
While the Product Success Accelerator for Cyber Recovery is only available in North America, MDR Pro Plus is now available globally, directly and through channel partners, as is Secured Component Verification on Cloud. CrowdStrike inside SafeGuard and Response is also now available globally.
