Augmentt has added integration with Duo’s MFA solution to its cloud management platform.
The new functionality gives MSPs a real-time view of whether Duo users in their customer base have MFA enabled or not. Until now, information about MFA protection status was limited to clients using Microsoft Authenticator to apply MFA to Microsoft 365.
“That only works if everybody’s using it,” says Derik Belair, Augmentt’s CEO, of Authenticator. “If a handful of people are using outside tools like Duo, we really didn’t give you that visibility.” Now, he continues, technicians can view consolidated MFA information from multiple security tools in a single multitenant interface.
“It gives you a whole view of how is this customer and employee protected,” Belair says. “Is it Microsoft? Is it Duo? Which one is enabled? Which one got turned off?”
Duo support is available immediately as an optional add-on to users of Augmentt Secure, the vendor’s cloud security solution. The integration does not currently allow administrators to build and apply policies for MFA enforcement as they can for Microsoft Authenticator, but is scheduled to gain that capability early in the second quarter of the year.
Duo is Augmentt’s first MFA partner and first integration partner more generally beyond Microsoft, Google, ConnectWise, and Kaseya’s Datto unit. “It’s a big step forward for us as we start looking at a lot more integration with third-party tools that play in that security identity management space,” Belair says.
Support for as many as six additional, unnamed MFA, password management, and access management vendors is currently on Augmentt’s near-term roadmap, he adds. So too is the ability for MSPs to use cloud management vendor JumpCloud’s directory as a supplement or alternative to Azure Active Directory.
The longer-term goal, Belair explains, is to turn Augmentt’s platform into the single pane of glass for security that partners are looking for. “They want that one central dashboard to act as a security protection system where they can look at what matters most, what are the pillars of security when it comes to SaaS, and how do I know what’s working well, and what’s not?”
Augmentt has integrations in areas beyond security nearing release as well. Support for ConnectWise PSA (formerly known as ConnectWise Manage) and Datto’s Autotask PSA, in particular, are due “over the next few weeks and few months,” Belair says.
Auto-remediation of issues identified by Augmentt Secure will arrive as well early this summer. At present, users must make updates or enforce policies manually.
Augmentt Secure has been available in two editions, Secure Essentials and Secure Premium, since last October. The Premium version adds templated, automated policy setting and configuration features, among others, to the base monitoring, alerting, and remediation functionality in the Essentials version.
