The IoT Security Services Association (IoTSSA) Cybersecurity Expo is taking place this week, March 30-31, in Austin, Texas, at the Austin Marriott Downtown. The two-day event is designed to keep IT solution providers at the forefront of cybersecurity with sessions that deliver forward-looking thought leadership and best practices.
Yesterday, Brian Sherman, event moderator and head of research for CommCentric Solutions, kicked off the day, along with Al Phillips, president of IoTSSA, and Sheila Phillips, managing director, who traveled from Canada to welcome partners and vendors.
Vendor presentations on day one focused on topics that included: IoT/industrial security opportunities, securing and growing a solution provider business, and cyber insurance issues.
The day ended with networking and a happy hour.
Today, Lisa Person, director of member recruitment and engagement at industry organization CompTIA, highlighted threat intelligence and data from the CompTIA ISAO.
Vendor presentations throughout the day are focusing on: zero trust, implementing security awareness programs to increase MRR, the importance of unified visibility, the need to modernize cybersecurity and backup, navigating the modern threat landscape, defining a cyber resilience strategy, benefits of XDR, securing hybrid/remote office environments, and layered security.
The day also includes two discussion panels. In one, senior executives from ID Agent, Dark Cubed, Solutions Granted, and PC Matic discuss the threats facing MSPs and MSP vendors and how that impacts your business and your customers.
In the second panel, senior executives from ScalePad, CyberGuard360, Armor, and Sophos, offer advice on breaking through the SMB and moving cybersecurity to the top of their priorities in 2022.
The day concludes with a vendor expo, followed by dinner, prizes, and entertainment.
