The ChannelPro Network hosted a live, day-long Cybersecurity Online Summit on August 4, the second of two planned cybersecurity events this year. The summit featured cybersecurity experts and security service providers discussing the newest additions to the threat landscape and the biggest new security markets.
“Cybersecurity and how to best protect their SMB clients remain top of mind for all MSPs and IT solution providers, which is why ChannelPro is hosting two security-focused online events this year,” said Rich Freeman, executive editor of The ChannelPro Network. “Our goal is to give our audience the insight and advice they need to stay on top of both threats and opportunities.”
Sessions at the August 8 Cybersecurity Online Summit included:
- Security Checklist Pro Tips – Our expert guests Lawrence Cruciana (pictured above) and Rebecca Herold weighed in on which regular cybersecurity maintenance tasks best-in-class channel pros perform on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- MSP, Defend Thyself! – Panelists and cybersecurity pros Jayson Ferron and Richard Shinnick detailed the essential tools and techniques MSPs must use to protect themselves from escalating threats.
- Peer to Peer: Partnering with Security Partners – MSP Joshua Liberman and MSSP Robert Boles discussed best practices for working successfully with SOCs, penetration testers, and other providers of outsourced security services.
- Know Your Adversary – White-hat hacker and pen-testing expert James Carroll presented real-world examples of how attackers breach networks and exfiltrate data without being detected.
- The Why and How of CMMC – Panelists Zac Cramer and Joy Belinda Beland (pictured right) discussed how more than 300,000 organizations in the “Defense Industrial Base” must soon earn the federal government’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification and what it takes to get in on the CMMC consulting opportunity.
- Squash that Security Sales Objection! – Two experienced channel pros, Scott Beck and David Dadian, delivered their favorite responses when clients say no to security best practices. Sales expert Gil Cargill rated their answers to determine who would take home bragging rights for collecting the most points.
“ChannelPro is committed to providing high-quality cybersecurity content that will help our audience keep themselves and their customers safe,” said Michael Siggins, president and publisher of the ChannelPro Network. “We are grateful to the top industry experts, vendor sponsors, and IT solution providers who chose to spend their day with us to address this critical topic.”
